New Program Director!

img_0006-copyWe are excited to announce that Melissa Christensen has accepted the position of Program Director and will oversee several of our group homes.

Melissa began her Averyon career in January 2002, when she was hired as a Resident Counselor at our home on Bradford St.  She was promoted to Program Coordinator, holding this position at four of our homes.  Melissa also served as Aveyron’s Activities Coordinator and most recently held the position of part-time Health Care Coordinator.

While working at Aveyron, Melissa studied nursing, and in June 2015, became a licensed Registered Nurse.     Congratulations Melissa!

AprilJ.2016We are excited to announce April Jacobson’s promotion to Program Coordinator at our home on 958 Jorgenson!  April began her career at Aveyron in August 2004,  when she was hired as a Resident Counselor at our homes on Alan and Kouwe.  She also worked at our Century home and provided In-Home services.  April attended Iowa State University and Iowa Lakes Community College.  Congratulations April!

Exciting News!

Aveyron Homes, Inc. has been named a recipient of the 2016 – 100 Best Companies To Work For in Minnesota!  This is the 2nd consecutive year that Aveyron has received this honor.

This award, presented by Minnesota Business magazine, honors 100 Minnesota companies that have been deemed as the best places to work by their own employees, based on surveys submitted about their workplace.

This is a HUGE honor that would not have been possible to achieve without our team of dedicated staff who support the clients we serve!

Thanks to all of you who completed surveys and congratulations to our entire staff for making Aveyron a great place to work!  A Recognition/Awards Ceremony will be held at the Depot Renaissance in Downtown Minneapolis on June 2nd.

ARRM Day at the Capitol!

ARRM2016Day at the CapitolARRM Day at the Capitol was held on Thursday March 16.  It’s a day where Minnesotans rally in support of a 5% increase for Home and Community-Based Services.

Aveyron staff and clients attended the rally at the Capitol.  The rally included many speakers, including Kent Eken, the lead Senate author of the 5% rate increase bill.  The group also met with Representative Dean Urdahl and Senator Scott Newman, asking them for their support.  We shared how important it is, that we adequately compensate our staff,  so that clients depending on our care,  have quality care that’s consistent.

New Accounts Manager!

IMG_0725 - CopyPlease join us in extending a warm welcome to Jacob Schlagel as he joins Aveyron Homes as our new Accounts Manager!  Jacob joins us with experience from McLeod County, where he held the position of Accounting Technician.  He and his wife are also owners of “The Blue Note” in Winsted, Minnesota,  where he oversees daily operations.  In his spare time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family and watching and playing sports.   We are happy that Jacob joined our Aveyron team!
